Dj Rem (Ramil Ashrafov) was born in 1978 in Baku city, Azerbaijan and has been one of the first and most popular DJs in Azerbaijan. Story of DJ Rem is associated with the history of clubbing culture of Azerbaijan. Since early years his passion to dance music made his way to this profession. In 1993 Ramil made himself busy with contemporary dancing within “New Men” dance band at Chingyz Mustafayev youth palace. This was where first public dance parties took place. In 1996 Rem starts his career as DJ in the first big discothèque called Sky Life together with Dj Namik Mamedov at Nizami cinema building. After closing of this series of parties in 1997 continued playing at night clubs such as Bermuda, Relax, 106fm, Tunnel. First electronic dance music parties in Baku city called House”106 fm were organized by TRiBAL PROMO GROUP at 106fm from 1996, which DJ Rem and DJ Nemo. Rem received invitation for residency from Tunnel loacted at the Grand Europe Hotel in 2000. While being resident at Tunnel club, DJ Rem in association with DJ Nemo organizes first national festival of electronic music SYMBIOS with partipication of Russian DJs Kosinus and Slutkey as well as artists from England John B and others. Year 2003 witnessed a big open-air event Liquid Surface im one of popular beach venues on the Caspian Sea shores. Well-known Russian techno DJ Van Nosikov was among guests in this event. Liquid Surface played a landmarking role in spreading of clubbing in Baku, which was continued by yet the biggest open-air event SandStorm with finnish celebrity DJ/Artist Darude in 2004 and well-known DJ from Saint-Petersburg Mikha Voron, co-organizer of MayDay.

DJ Rem has played in various cities of Russia, especially his gigs at clubs like Tunnel (St- Petersburg), RED (St.- Petersburg), Matrix (Nijny-Novgorod), 28 (Minsk), Farvater (Vyborg), Pobeda (Kirov) Sphere (Perm), Berlin, Noa –Noa (Tbilisi), Metro (Lvov), Cinema (Kiev) and Kazantip 2006 (Ukraine) His style is mainly techno and other close genres including electro, house, tech-house, tribal, breaks and etc. DJ Rem The owner of the company’s organization of major events “DREAMEXE – INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION BAKU” branch which is located in the UAE. Dreamexe company headed by DJ Rem made many events with such international artists as Alex Gaudino, Fedde Le Grand, Michael Woods, Antoine Clammaran, D. Ramirez, Funkagenda, Ministry Of Sound NYE, Motiv8, Modjo.

DJ Rem played on stage with famous DJs organized by company Dreamexe Production. Ramil released mix cd such as “Hard House is Here”, “Millenium Mix”, “Electrordinary” vol.1 & 2, “Element”-vol.1 (spb), “Soft’n'Dirty”, “The Future Soundof Baku “,” Audio Dessert “vol.1. and to the 15-th anniversary of his creativity anniversary disc “15 IN Music” which included a remix of Azerbaijan folklore melody Sari Gelin. At the moment, DJ Rem working on his own album and one of the tracks under the name Party33 will make video in the near future.
